Empathy - Honesty - Connection
I believe that we all have the capacity and the wisdom to resolve our difficulties and to improve our lives.
Unfortunately, sometimes this ability to know what is right for us can become blocked when we are in distress and have negative life experiences - particularly those that affect our sense of value or around feelings of shame.
One of the beliefs that underpin the person-centred approach to counselling is that with the right support from your counsellor, you are able to discover new resources and find your own answers. The working relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most important aspects of a positive therapy experience and needs to be based on trust.
Time to Think
Clients find that counselling gives them space and time to explore their thoughts and feelings. Though at times this process might be difficult, this increased self-knowledge can lead to positive changes.
Therapy is your space to come and talk about issues and worries you might have. I am here to listen, reflect, ask thought-provoking questions that will help you achieve your goals. We all go through difficult times and sometimes we just need a safe space to talk to someone.
